Graphic design gives wings to visual communication.
I’m passionate about bringing effective and striking design to common design needs. Graphic design does the work of a chrysalis, transforming common design needs into a work that is both highly effective in its communication and visually striking.
In the design process, I have found psychology foundational to designing with empathy. Every color, typeface, shape and structure within a design communicates a subconscious message to viewers. Thus, my process includes setting aside time to thoroughly research and analyze these psychological parameters in each project. Studies in psychology help me design with empathy, to listen deeply, and analyze to problem solve.
In psychology, plasticity is defined as the capacity for continuous alteration of the neural pathways and synapses of the living brain and nervous system in response to experience or injury. It can be said that graphic designers use this same process of plasticity in transforming and refining design outcomes. Designers alter a design in response to the experience of visual communication failing to solve problems, whether because of incorrectly applying design principles, cultural differences, or evolving semiotics. Plasticity in design is necessary for effective visual communication. Failure (injury) often serves to strengthen a design.
